Recibió su Doctorado en Física (PhD) por la Universidad de la Amistad de los Pueblos, Rusia.

Recibió su segundo Doctorado en Física-Matemática (DrSci) por la Universidad de Krasnoyarsk, Rusia.

Actualmente es Investigador Titular C del Departamento de Física del Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías, de la Universidad de Guadalajara.

Miembro de la Academia Mexicana de Ciencias

Es Investigador Nivel II del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores y cuenta con reconocimiento de perfil PRODEP.

Su campo de estudio dentro de la Física es en Física teórica y matemática, en particular, Relatividad general y teoría de campo.

Su obra científica incluye la publicación de más de 100 artículos de investigación con arbitraje formal, 1 monografía (Atomizdat, Rusia), 1 libro de texto y 5 capítulos de libros.

En su trabajo, destaca la dirección de tesis de doctorado (8), maestría (16) y licenciatura (7). Como investigador, ha participado en más de 20 congresos internacionales y más de 20 nacionales. Dentro de sus actividades de difusión y divulgación de la ciencia, cuenta con artículos de divulgación, charlas y participaciones en radio.

Ha sido revisor de varias revistas científicas y de proyectos de investigación, de candidatos a realizar estudios de posgrados de calidad del CONACYT.

Ha participado en la creación de la Maestría y Doctorado en Ciencias en Física y en el diseño de los respectivos planes de estudios.
