El Doctor Fausto se tituló de la Licenciatura en Ingeniería en Mecatrónica en la Universidad del Valle de Atemajac. Obtuvo el título de Maestro en Ciencias en Ingeniería Electrónica y Computación, y de Doctor en Ciencias de la Electrónica y la Computación en la Universidad de Guadalajara.

Actualmente es profesor en la División de Electrónica y Computación en el Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías de la Universidad de Guadalajara. Asi mismo El Dr. Fausto pertenece a la linea de analitica de datos y aprendizaje maquina, e imparte la asignatura de Mineria de datos.
